Virginia Page Stearns

Virginia Page Stearns passed away with family at her side on
Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the age of 70. A native of Baltimore,
Maryland, Ginny lived over the years in Alaska, California, and
Illinois, settling in West Des Moines in 1988. She worked 17 years as
a mortgage auditor before retiring in 2011. She had a deep love of
travel and animals, but her true passion and life's work was family
history. Her collection of genealogy research will be donated to the
Wythe County (Virginia) Genealogical and Historical Association. Ginny
is survived by her cat Alice as well as her brother Bill Shuff of
Annapolis, Maryland, her son Michael Pratt (and wife Jeni) of Jerome,
Michigan, her son Andrew Pratt (and wife Jamie) of Carlisle, Iowa, her
daughter Jaime Stearns of Albuquerque, New Mexico, seven
grandchildren, and a great-grandson. In accordance with her wishes,
her cremated remains will be planted with a seedling tree in a private
