Twyla Elizabeth James was born 10/28/1922 to Clarence James & Jessie Danner James and was educated in Lucas and Clarke County schools. On January 2, 1941, she was married to Merle Cooper and they had 3 children, Janice Cooper Lang, Jack Cooper and Gene Cooper. \n\nTwyla never met a stranger and respected all people. She loved to cook! Friends and family fondly remember her homemade cinnamon rolls, popcorn balls, lemon meringue pies, chicken and noodles, coleslaw, cucumber and onions, fried chicken and mashed potatoes. \n\nShe retired from Diamond Laboratories after 25 years of service in 1987. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merle in January 1988 after 47 years of marriage; daughter, Janice in December 1988; son, Gene in 2010; long-time loving companion of 20 years, Lloyd Eggen in 2014, and brother Merlyn (and wives Mary and Freda); brother Ross James (Midge); brother-in-law Bert (Alice) Cooper; brother-in-law Lyle (Mae) Cooper; brother-in-law Harley (Marie) Cooper; Sister-in-law Mildred (Harold) Viers and Sister-in-law Zola (Dwight) McKnight. \n\n She is survived by her son, Jack (Char); son-in-law, Ted (Connie) Lang; grandsons Mike (Chris) Lang; Randy (Becky) Cooper; Mark (Kori) Cooper; Job (Kris) Cooper; Chad Cooper; Jason (Carrie) Cooper; daughter-in-law Pam (John) Barnett; Don (Karen) Eggen and their children; 22 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Carlisle Christian Church. Memorials may be directed to the Carlisle Christian Church, Carlisle Dollars for Scholars or to the family.
