Ruben F. Parrish Obituary (1920 - 2010)

RUBEN F. PARRISH Des Moines Formerly of Indianola Ruben F. Parrish, age 90, passed away on May 16, 2010 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, IA. Funeral services for Ruben are at 1 p.m. Thursday May 20 at the Chapel of Faith Church in Indianola with visitation on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola. Ruben served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a P.O.W. He also worked for Butler 66 Station and Warren County Oil. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola. Ruben is survived by a daughter, Gloria (Richard) Pace of Des Moines; son-in- law, Rex Leanhart; six grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren; 13 great- great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bernice Putz and Bonnie Stills; and brother, Gaylord. Ruben was preceded in death by his wife, Martha; daughter, Betty Jo Leanhart; sisters, Elizabeth Clark, Fairie Clark; brothers, Orn and Russell Parrish.
