Robert W. Creighton

Robert Wayne Creighton passed away May 12, 2018 at his home in Indianola. He was born September, 15, 1942 in Sioux City, Iowa to Vere and Margaret Creighton. Bob attended Dowling High School. He proudly served his country in the US Navy. After leaving the Navy, Bob worked his entire career for Meredith/RR Donnelly printing.
Bob loved fishing, going to the YMCA, riding his bike, and caring for animals of all kinds. He was the proud founder of the "Save the Males" bicycle club. Bob also served as the family genealogist.
Survivors include the love of his life Marjorie. They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in April of this year. Siblings include his brothers Jim of Des Moines, Joe (Christine) of Granger, his sisters Kay Crippen and Mary Swanson (Andrew) also of Des Moines, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Vere and Margaret Creighton, his niece Margie Creighton, and his brother-in-law Joe Crippen.
Bob was a great husband, brother, uncle, friend, and co-worker. He will be sorely missed by his family and countless friends. Heaven has truly gained an angel!
A memorial mass will be held Saturday, May 19 2018 at 11:00am, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Indianola. Immediately following mass, there will be military honors conducted by the United States Navy at the church.
