Pavel Korkosh, of Chariton, passed on peacefully June 30, 2018 at the age of 76. Services will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Petersen Funeral Home in Indianola. Pavel A. Korkosh was born January 28th, 1942 to Arkhip and Nadiya Korkosh in Selets, Ukraine. Pavel was one of three children born to the couple. Pavel attended trade school and studied construction. He then went on to build many beautiful buildings throughout Ukraine and Russia. \nOn October 30, 1973, Pavel was united in marriage to Klavdiya Kosmin after falling in love at first sight when they met in Kiev, capitol of Ukraine while riding the tram. The couple was blessed with five children: Anna, Petr, Lyudmila, Lyubov, and Vera. In 1996, the family moved from Ukraine to Washington state. Six years after making their home in the United States, they moved from Washington to Chariton, Iowa. Pavel was a loving husband and father. He dedicated his life to serving the Lord and instilled that deep faith into his children. Among many talents that he had, he was most known for his strong, beautiful vocal voice and singing in the church choir. His favorite pass time was traveling, staying in touch with family and friends, and reading various literature.\nPreceded in death by his sister, Olga Korkosh, parents Arkhip and Nadiya Korkosh and wife of 46 years, Klavdiya. He is survived by his children: Anna (Adam) Krasko, Petr (Lyudmila) Korkosh, Lyudmila (Yevgeniy) Tarasenkov, Lyubov (Miles) Vitale, and Vera (Leonard) Ilnitsky; 16 grandchildren; and sister, Katerina Velinets.
