Patricia Howard

Patricia June Gustafson Howard, 96, a long-term resident of Carlisle, passed away August 15, 2023, at Arbor Terrace Center in Naperville, IL. Pat was born on September 6, 1926 in Carbondale, IA. She was the fourth of seven children born unto Will and Neota Gustafson.

She attended East High School and worked for years at Capital City Bank and the Register & Tribune.

Pat and her husband, Ivan, were members of the New Life Church in Pleasant Hill.

For many years she actively served in the Polk County Jail ministry and at the Iowa Correctional Center for Women.

Pat is survived by sons, Tim (Kathee) of Naperville, IL and Dan (Mary) Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Five grandchildren; Eric Howard and Alisa Derr of Illinois, Rob Howard of Arizona, Ted Howard of Colorado and Maria Draper of Arizona, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4pm to 8pm, Monday August 21 at Peterson Funeral home in Carlisle.

Graveside services will be held in Carlisle Cemetery at 10:00am on Tuesday August 22.
