The Lord called Mike home the morning of September 12, 2020. Mike was born February 2, 1955 in Des Moines, Iowa to Donald and Jeanne Johnson. He asked Jesus to be his Savior in his 20's. Mike was the oldest of 4 siblings. \r\n\r\nMike enjoyed gardening, family gatherings, watching football, fishing, hunting, and playing cribbage with his family and his friend Kent. Christmas was Mike's favorite holiday and Silver Bells his favorite song. His grandchildren also gave him great joy. Mike was a very proud grandpa and Papa.\r\n\r\nMike graduated from SEP high school in 1973. He met Shirley on a blind date in 1975. They were married 3 months later. To this union 3 daughters were born, LeAnna, Lori and Lindsey.\r\nBefore having to stop working for health reasons, Mike was a custodian for Carlisle Community Schools. Mike is survived by his wife , Shirley, dad, Donald; siblings, Don, Tim(Karen), and Brenda(Tom); children, LeAnna(Brandon), Lori(Jon) and Lindsey(Philip); grandchildren, Olivia, Audrey, Abraham, Noah, Emily, Nathan, Giuliana, Nolan and Dawson. Mike was preceded in death by his mom, Jeanne.\r\n\r\nA visitation for Mike will be held from 5-7:00 PM on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle. A private family graveside to celebrate Mike's life will be at 12:00 PM Friday, September 18, 2020 in the Carlisle City Cemetery.\r\n\r\nMike's family would like to thank everyone for your prayers during their journey. Mike is home now, face to face with his Loving Savior Jesus Christ.
