Melvin Gladson, 56, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2011 in Mesa Arizona from cardiac arrest. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am., December 10, 2011 at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to service time on the same day.

Melvin was born the son of Leo and Mary Gladson on January 9, 1955 in Des Moines, Iowa and grew up in Carlisle. Melvin had 3 children from his first marriage and later married Chong Kasper and moved to Arizona. While in Iowa Melvin worked in the meat packing and trucking industry. Melvin was currently working for Cemex in Phoenix.

Melvin is survived by his wife Chong Gladson; Mother Mary Brennan; Daughters Heather(Archie)Deaton and Amanda Gladson both of Carlisle; Son Mark(Crystal)Gladson; Siblings Doug(Diane)Gladson of Norwalk and Karen(Randy)Corning of Indianola; Stepdaughter Stephanie Kasper, 7 grandchildren, 5 nephews and many friends.

Melvin was preceded in death by his father Leo Gladson Jr. and both paternal and maternal grandparents.
