It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Mary Runyan, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Born on April 22, 1945 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, she was a beacon of strength, resilience, and love. She left us on June 28, 2023, and with her, she took a piece of our hearts. Mary's legacy of love and compassion will eternally resonate with those who were fortunate to have known her. \n\nMary was the loving spouse to David Runyan, with whom she shared an enchanting bond since their marriage on May 24, 1975. Their love story was a testament of enduring affection and companionship.\n\nAs a mother, she showered her children, Rhett (Stephanie) Routh, Noelle (Troy) Krueger, and Erin (Josh) Runyan-Hershberger with unconditional love and guidance. Her nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren, Kylie Krueger, Ben Routh, Tristan Pohren, and Cade Pohren.\n\nMary was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Irene Flesner, two brothers; Bill Jr., Bob Flesner, and an infant daughter.\n\nThe family would like to extend a special thank you to Unity Point Hospice and Friends Home Care and Hospice, for their exceptional grace and support. Specifically, Melissa and Amanda, showed great compassion and tenderness.\n\nMary will be laid to rest in the company of her family with a private graveside ceremony.
