Martin "Marty" John Gyles

Martin “Marty” John Gyles, 54, passed away tragically due to heart failure, leaving a profound void in the lives of his family and friends. Born on December 2, 1971, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Michael and Shannon Gyles, Marty grew up with a spirit of adventure and a deep appreciation for the world around him.

He was a man who found his greatest peace in the outdoors, whether he was casting a line while fishing, feeling the freedom of the open road on his motorcycle, or working with his hands to craft something unique. Above all his passions, Marty was a devoted family man. His children were the center of his universe, and he loved them more than anything in this world.

Marty is survived by his beloved wife, Mandy Gyles; his children, Anthony (Sammi) Gyles, Martin Jr. (Becky) Gyles, Shannon (Jacob) Crawford, Ricky (Tessa) Gyles, Alicia Gyles, Alex Gyles, and Kylee Gyles; and his eight cherished grandchildren, Josie, Samson, Jameson, Ember, Journey, Ivy, Asher, and Jace. He also leaves behind his brother Sean (Sara) Gyles, sister Shawna (Jason) Brown, and brothers Chad Boley and Chris Bear, along with his nephews and nieces Michael, Jessica, Dalton, Liberty, and Tyler, as well as many cousins and a community of countless friends.

Marty was preceded in death by his father, Michael Anthony Gyles, and his mother, Shannon Rae McAdoo, along with many other dear family members. His legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to his family will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, March 30th, at Peterson Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 31st, at Bethany Full Gospel Church. Following the service, burial will take place at 11:30 AM at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
