Marjorie Lucille Thompson

Marjorie L Thompson, loving Mom, Granny and Great Granny passed away on January 3, 2019. Services will be held on Tuesday, January 8th, 2019 at 11:00 am at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle. A visitation will be held on Monday January 7th from 5 pm to 7 pm.

Marge was born on September 8th, 1929 to Charles and Gladys Sassman in Marathon, IA.
On March 22, 1946 Marge was married to Omer Thompson. From this marriage five children were born. Omer passed away in 1958 at the age of 38. Marge, a single mother, loved her children and was very proud of what they accomplished. Her strong family and work ethic will continue through them. Marge had a passion for the Iowa Hawkeyes and her flowers which always were a beauty to behold. Spending time with her family and going on road trips with her companion Pete gave her great joy. Marge was employed for many years in the dry-cleaning business at Corwin Cleaners and Skeffington Formal Wear.

Marge leaves behind her faithful companion Charles "Pete" Peterson, daughter Sandra Robinson, son Larry Thompson (Kathy), daughter Kathy Crooks (Rory), grandchildren Jason Crooks (Tami), Jolene Ledlie (Doug), Taylor Thompson and Brook Thompson, great grandchildren Alihandra Crooks, Austin Ledlie and Kaci Ledlie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Omer Thompson, daughter Sherry Thompson, son Michael Thompson, sister Darlene Jorgensen, brother Raymond Sassman, son in law Dave Robinson and grandson Michael Robinson.
