Joyce Ann Purdy

Joyce Ann Purdy, 78, of Indianola, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. A memorial graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, September 15, 2018, at the Hartford Cemetery in Hartford, Iowa. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Joyce was born on May 26, 1940 in Galesburg, Illinois to Kendall and Alberta (Bowman) Miller. She retired from Hershel-Adams after 33 years. She lived in Regency Care Facility in Norwalk. Joyce enjoyed playing bingo for bingo bucks, loved shopping, and she also loved spending time with her family.

Joyce is survived by daughters Marie (Dan) Fraaken and Donna Reed; grandchildren Kayla Fraaken, Jon Reed, and Desiree Reed; and a great-grandson Arius. She was also survived by her nieces and nephews; Randy, Dee, Karen, Lori, and Sheri; several great-nieces and nephews as well as several step-children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Herb Purdy; son, Rick Bales; Sister, Jackie Weltzheimer; Brother, Kenneth Miller; nephews, Kenny Miller Jr. and Rob Weltzheimer; and niece, Kim Weltzheimer.
