John Luallin

John David Luallin, 47, passed away on February 22, 2023, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A memorial funeral service for John will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Indianola. A visitation will take place at 10:00am prior to the service. John will be interred next to his son Paul at I.O.O.F Cemetery in Indianola at a later date.
John was born on November 20, 1975, in Des Moines to David and Lillian (Hargrove) Luallin. He was a skilled mechanic, working for TMC, Noble Ford, and most recently Knudson Transmission Services. John was a loving and caring person. He didn’t have the ability to say no to anyone. John was always there for whomever needed him. Any person who knew John knew that he would never shy away from a good joke or a fun party. As an organ donor, John’s passing gave life to multiple people. His selfless nature will not be forgotten.
John is survived by his father, David Luallin; sisters, Sarah Cassill, Mary (Phil) Strait, and Rachel (Andrew) Crees; several nephew and nieces, aunts, uncles, and countless friends.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian; his son, Paul; and a nephew, Caleb Strait.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials in John’s name be made to Iowa Donor Network or the National Kidney Foundation.
