James Harold Overton. Born on September 23, 1937. Died March 13, 2011, in Mission, Texas, where he and his wife, Patsy have been winter Texans for the last 12 years. Jim lived in Carlisle, Iowa all his life. He retired from Wright Chevrolet. Jim loved entertaining by playing his music and whistling. He was 5-time Iowa State Fair whistling champion. He was preceded in death by his father, Pete, and mother, Eunice; also, two sisters, Thelma Terry and Norma Clement and two brothers, Worth and Kenny Overton. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Patsy of 52 years; two children, Brenda (Mitch) Wolfe and Steven (Regina) Overton; six grandchildren, Ryan and Brody Rice, and Daniel, Elyse, Samuel, and Ethan Overton; also, two great-grandchildren, Zoe and Austin Rice. \n \nVisitation will be Friday, March 18, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle. Burial will follow at Carlisle Cemetery. \n \n\nMemorial contributions may be directed to the family.
