Jean Lockling

–

Carlisle, Iowa

Lonna Jean Lockling, 47 went home to be with Jesus on December 13, 2013. Lonna was born September 18, 1966 in Carroll, IA, the daughter of Gene and Pat Lockling. She went to school in Jefferson, Iowa and lived at home with her parents in Yale, Iowa.
Lonna was our angel unaware and brought a lot of blessing to her family. Lonna enjoyed going to church, gospel concerts, eating out and trips with her family. Two things she especially enjoyed were music and magazines. She especially enjoyed the Blackwood Brothers and polka music. You would often see Lonna looking through magazines and listening to her favorite gospel groups at the same time.
Although she had a limited vocabulary there were several words and phrases you would hear her say often. She would say her name and would express her love by the following phrases, "I love you, I love Jesus and I love you Daddy." You would hear her talk about a birthday party and about Julie and Gary. She was always a great traveler when they would get in the car and make the long drive to Phoenix to see her sister Julie. Another phrase she would often say was "church at Guthrie" where she was every Sunday morning.
One phrase that Lonna seemed to say more than anything else was, "I want to go home". Now she is now truly home and safe in the arms of Jesus.
Memorial contributions may be made to Yale or Guthrie Center Church of Christ.
Pallbearers:
