J.E. Nichols passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Kavanagh House in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am. Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm. Tuesday at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle. J.E. was born in Collins, Iowa on August 13, 1927 to Gertrude and James Nichols. J.E. served his country in the US Army and later farmed in Warren County. J.E. is survived by his wife Beverly of Carlisle, a daughter Jan(Brian)Ehlert of Des Moines and a son Russell(Karen)Nichols of Indianola, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
