Helga Wells

Helga Wells, 86, of Indianola passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2009, in Indianola.

Helga was born October 19, 1923 in Bronholm, Denmark, to Gerald and Karen (Bertlesen) Wells, Helga was married to Calvin Wells on February 2, 1944, in Des Moines, Iowa. Helga was a wonderful homemaker, wife and mother. Helga was very active in her church and community, volunteering at several Indianola Nursing Homes.

Helga was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Calvin.

Helga is survived by her sisters, Signe Sharp of Des Moines, IA and Gerda Hillyard of Waukee, IA; her sons, Gordon (Sharon Utsler) Wells, of Indianola, IA and Kurt (Barb) Wells of Indianola, IA; Grandchildren, Jason Wells, Karri Wells, Kasey Wells, Chelsea Wells, and Evan Wells; Great-Grandchildren, Spencer Wells, and Katelyn Wells.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 27, at the Chapel of Faith Church at 10a.m. with services to follow at 11a.m. Burial will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Indianola, following the services.

Memorials will go to the Chapel of Faith Church in Indianola.
