Carlisle, Iowa
Frances Charlotte Cooper (fondly known as Granny Franny, G-Ma Cooper, or Fran) went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 2, 2026, at the age of 82. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, faith, and resilience.
Born on March 6, 1944, in Dexter, Iowa, to Frank Wiese and Charlotte Schnoor, Frances lived a life rooted in her firm faith in Jesus Christ. On July 1, 1977, she married the love of her life, the Reverend Robert F. Cooper Sr. Together, they served several communities across Iowa and Kansas. Frances was a pillar of strength by her husband’s side during his tenure as a United Methodist pastor, and she dedicated many years of her own life as a devoted Church Administrator.
For the last ten years, she proudly called Carlisle, Iowa, her home.
Frances had a heart for service and a passion for creativity. She was remarkably talented at crocheting, knitting, sewing, and various arts and crafts—literally weaving warmth and love into every stitch she made for her family and community. Her life reflected Proverbs 31:25-26: "She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness."
