Edward Charles Yearington Obituary (1941 - 2010)

EDWARD CHARLES YEARINGTON Carlisle Edward Yearington, 69, of Carlisle passed away June 14, 2010 in Des Moines, Iowa. Edward was born March 2, 1941 in Corning, Iowa. Ed was police officer in Harlan, Iowa in his younger days and then moved to Carlisle where he was the chief of police from 1977 to 983 when he retired from police work. Ed moved to Orange County, Ca. where he was a security guard for Smith Tools. Ed moved back to Harlan for several years and after having a stroke in 2000 he came to live closer to his family in Carlisle. Ed enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandkids and great grandkids. He loved watching NASCAR and was a big fan of racing sports. Ed leaves behind daughters Marcia Thacker of Des Moines, Michelle (Jason) Livingston of Hartford, Nichole Marco, Kimberly Marco, Chris Marco and Andrea Lohoff, a son Mark Yearington; Sisters Lois Van Ness, Mary jo Rieklus and Dee Williams and many grandkids and great grandkids. Ed is preceeded in death by his parents, a brother and two grandsons. Funeral services will be held Thursday June 17, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle with visitation held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening the night Prior.
