Edward Greene

Edward Alan Greene passed away, March 23, 2025 in Des Moines, Iowa. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025 at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle. Memorial services will begin at 12:00 PM, following visitation at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow services in the Carlisle City Cemetery.

Ed was born on June 22, 1951 to Lloyd and Margaret (Elliott) Greene. Ed attended high school in Des Moines, IA. Joined the army at 17. In 1969 he went to war in Vietnam and served 2 tours. In 1994 Ed married Linda and formed our family. For 30 years they enjoyed each other. Ed worked at HyVee managing the meat dept. He retired from there after 30 years in 2019. Eds love of cars and dogs always filled his life. He was a member of the Rebel Cruisers car club and the Altoona VFW post. Ed enjoyed showing his car at car shows and traveling with his wife Linda. Grandchildren and the dogs were always close second.

Ed is survived by his daughter Angela Foreman of Altoona; Grandsons, Hunter and Parker Foreman. One great child Stella Foreman; step children, Sean Dority (Stacy) of Polk City, Ryan Dority or Des Moines, Eric Dority of Des Moines, Sarah Gerhart of Ankeny, and 9 additional grandchildren.

Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Greene, brother Gary Greene, and his parents Lloyd and Margaret (Elliott)Greene.
