Doris Gene Jones

Doris Gene Jones of Carlisle passed away Friday, December 29, 2017 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Doris was born March 24, 1936 in Bunch Iowa to Purva and Faye Osteen. She attended Albia High School, graduating in 1954. Crocheting and knitting were some of her favorite things to do. She also enjoyed living on the farm and being a farm wife, and especially loved working with the cattle. Doris was proud to have celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary with her husband David on June 20, 2016.
Doris is survived by her husband of 51 years, David Jones, a son, Brian Morgan of Carlisle, a daughter Marcia (Bruce) Nordmann of West Des Moines, as well as her grandchildren Angel Head, Gordon Head, Casey (Annette) Head, and a great-grandchild, Caelen Thorn. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and her son Kevin Morgan.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 12pm at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle, with a visitation starting at 10am prior to the service. Burial will be in the Carlisle Cemetery immediately following the service. Online condolences can be made at www.petersonfuneralservice.com
