David Lee Veeder, 68, son of Harry and Celesta Veeder was born March 28, 1953 in Clarion, Iowa. He passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Joliet, Illinois. A celebration of life gathering will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 1:00-3:00pm at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola. A short service will take place at 2:30pm.\r\nDave graduated from Boone Valley High School in Renwick, Iowa in 1971. He started working at a feed mill in Eagle Grove, Iowa during his senior year of high school and worked there until 1972. He worked various jobs until joining Cargill Pork, where he was a plant manager for 32 years. \r\nDave loved being with his family, especially his granddaughter which he and Pat are raising. His hobbies were classic cars of which he owned three. He had a 1970 Mach 1 Mustang, a 1966 Ford Fairlane, and a 1981 Datsun 280 Z. He loved going to car shows, showing his cars and seeing other cars. Dave also loved fishing. \r\nDave is survived by his wife Pat and his granddaughter Rebecca Powell of Indianola, Iowa, siblings, Phyllis Jordan of Springfield, Missouri; Allen (Debbie) Veeder of Route 66 in Missouri; Wayne Veeder of Pratt Kansas, Darlene (Dennis) Cory, and Sharon Marchant of Stuart, Iowa. \r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents.
