Des Moines, Iowa
Daron P. Leach passed away on Monday May 26th, 2025 at his home in Des Moines, IA.
Daron was born on October 23, 1973 to Melvin and Sandra Leach in Milo, IA. He was the youngest of four siblings (Julie, Jerry, and Dan). He graduated from SE Warren in 1992 and while in school there met many lifelong friends that meant more to him than can be put into words. Daron was a dedicated, hard worker. He started working at Tension Envelope 32 years ago and was still employed there upon his passing. He enjoyed his time working there getting to know many great people.
Daron lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends, was an exclusive member of the YMCA, and was an avid bike rider. He had many hobbies and spent time traveling, watching Iowa State University sports, his beloved Denver Broncos, Kansas City Royals, and St. Louis Blues. He attended more concerts in his lifetime with his brothers and close friends than can ever begin to be counted. Music filled his soul and created the person who Daron came to be. He was a kind-hearted, warm, generous, and all around amazing human being. His smile would light up a room and it will be missed by all of us fortunate people who got to experience it.
Daron was so close to his family and always was there for them. He called his dad each day to just check in, spent quality time with his siblings, was present for his niece and nephew’s milestones in life, and most recently in the life of his great-nephews as well. Daron had a special gift in his life not all get to experience - the gift of MANY genuine, close friendships. There are too many of you to name individually, but you know who you are. Daron got to experience these friendships which contributed to him living life to the fullest.
Daron is survived by his father, Mel Leach, his brothers, Dan Leach, Jerry Leach (Lisa Theisen), and sister, Julie (Dean) Anderson. He will be greatly missed by his niece, Morgan (Emmett) Konrad, nephew, Adam (Maegen) Leach, and two great-nephews, Brooks Konrad and Killian Leach. He will also be fondly remembered by his step-nephew, Ryan Honnold, and step-niece, Jade Honnold, as well as step-great nieces, Lily, Ella, and Mila Marmon. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Leach.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 31st at Peterson’s Funeral Home in Indianola, IA from 1pm to 4pm. Memorials in memory of Daron can be made to the YMCA of Greater Des Moines.
