Carroll Leon Isley, 78, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018, in Glendale, Arizona. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2018, at the Middle River Friends Church in Rural Carlisle. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 24, 2018, at the Middle River Friends Church. Interment with military honors will follow the funeral service at the Palmyra Cemetery.\nCarroll was born November 20, 1939 in Ackworth, Iowa, to Russell and Vadis (Furnal) Isley. He graduated from Hartford High School in 1957 and attended Iowa State University for a short time. Carroll joined the U.S. Army in January of 1959. He married Carolyn Jennings on November 25, 1961 and together they had two children, Tammy Lynn Isley and Todd Duane Isley. Carroll loved to sell, ranging from seed, life insurance, and International Harvester "red iron" equipment until finally settling into the insurance business for the past 40 years in Carlisle. He loved to spend the winter months in Arizona, going to ASU softball games, spending time on the golf course, and socializing with his friends through the years. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandsons.\nCarroll is survived by his two children; Tammy (John) Guenther of Des Moines with two grandchildren, Nathan Guenther and Kale Guenther; Todd (Patti) Isley of Carlisle with three grandchildren, Gabriel McCaughey, Nicholas McCaughey, and Spencer Isley; companion Linda Brower of Carlisle, her two children and her seven grandchildren and one great grandchild; brother Dwight "Bro Darrell" (Sharlene) Isley of Sierra Vista, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn and parents Russell and Vadis Isley.\nIn lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Carlisle Dollars for Scholars Isley Family Endowment.
