Carol Mae (Gaston) Conant passed away on November 19, 2021, in Des Moines, Iowa. A visitation for both Marvin and Carol Conant will be held Monday, December 6th from 5-7pm at Peterson's Funeral Home located at 415 School Street, Carlisle, IA. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, December 7th at 11:00 am, also at Peterson's Funeral Home with lunch to follow.\r\n \r\nCarol was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, on October 4, 1938, to Stanley and Nioma (Johnston) Gaston. Carol met her husband Marvin at Carlisle High School in 1953, where they fell for each other and were married at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa, in 1957, \r\nbecoming soulmates forever. This loving soul was lucky enough to enjoy a life of travel, taking any possible adventure by the reins and coming home to a family she made sure to always put first. Family meant everything to Carol, and she held them at a high place in her heart, making sure to be there for every holiday, every sporting event, and every grandchild's birth. Rice Krispies treats in hand and a warm hug to give, Carol lived a blessed and fulfilling life surrounded by loving family.\r\n\r\nCarol is survived by her husband, Marvin; children Kim (Ken), Connie (Eddie), Doug (Kim); grandchildren Zach (Leah), Parker (Jenna), Cody (Julia), Corrie (Boone), Katie (Joe), Jensen (Cam), Blake, Nathan (Nicole), Annie; 10 beautiful great-grandchildren; brother, Bob Gaston, and sisters Judy Sunga, and Shirley "Babe" Dalby. \r\n\r\nCarol was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Dick Gaston, Sonny Gaston, and great- grandson Preston Johnson. \r\n \r\nMemorials in Carol's name can be made to Carlisle Alumni Association, P.O.
