Billy White

Billy Edward White, 84, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully at his home on October 20, 2026.

Bill was born on April 17, 1942, in Des Moines, Iowa, to the late Denver Thomas White and Ima Bertine Bagley. While he spent a portion of his life living in Colorado, he ultimately returned home to his roots in Iowa.

Bill possessed several skills but was most notably a commercial vehicle operator and a true jack of all trades who could fix almost anything. He had a deep appreciation for history and craftsmanship and enjoyed collecting antique toys and researching his family genealogy. He was also a devoted member of the Masonic Lodge, where he achieved the rank of Master Mason and thoroughly enjoyed attending lodge meetings and connecting with his brothers.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Denver and Ima, and his two beloved sons, Douglas and Allen.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Vicky White and his five children: Betty (Lyle) Taylor of Indianola, Iowa; Donald (Brenda) White of Waukee, Iowa; Eileen (Scott) Groves of Prole, Iowa; Billy Scott of Denver, Colorado; and Robin (Todd) Spratt of Woodward, Iowa.

Bill is also survived and remembered by his 15 cherished grandchildren: Abi, Jake, Grace, Ashleigh, Dakota, Megan, Tanner, Brooke, Hailey, Jessica, Douglas, Bret, Ryan, Trevor, and Kaitlyn; and his 13 adored great-grandchildren: Ryder, Allen, Quincy, Denver, Jade, Asher, Paisleigh, Alex, Emily, Thomas, Conner, Andrew, and Noah. He also leaves behind his brother, Jerry (Marcia) White of Creston, Iowa; his sisters, Beverly Pierce and Michael Ann Cramer, both of Colorado; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Service Details:
A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at Glad Tidings Assembly of God, located at 314 East Army Post Road, Des Moines, Iowa. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM. Following the service, Bill will be laid to rest with a graveside service at Glendale Cemetery, 4909 University Ave, Des Moines.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a reception back at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church immediately following the graveside service to share memories and celebrate Bill's life.
