Ashley R. Dutcher Obituary (1985 - 2015)

Ashley R. Dutcher 30 passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 in Des Moines, Iowa. Ashley was born on March 2, 1985 in Des Moines, Iowa to Karen and Dean Dutcher. Ashley was stricken with Scleroderma when she was 17. Through it all she maintained a positive attitude, a strong willingness to live and a deep commitment to the following organizations; Warren County Saddle Club, Warren County Quarter Horse Assoc., Heartland Chapter Scleroderma Foundation of Des Moines, Scleroderma Support Group and the Warren County 4H. Ashley also held many awards and honors; including 2014 Iowa Horse Fair Special Needs Cowgirl Queen. Ashley was recently DMACC to earn her degree in photography. Ashley had a deep compassion for all animals. She loved her family and friends. Most important were her 3 nieces who were the loves of her life. Ashley is survived by her mother Karen Dutcher of Indianola; father, Dean Dutcher(Terry) of Indianola; sister, Casey(Mark)Gripp of Ft. Wainwright, Alaska; nieces, Jaedyn, Avrie and Devyn Gripp; step brothers, Jeremy Godrey of Omaha, Nebraska, Ben Godrey(Rita)of Norwalk, Andrew Godrey of Urbandale, Zach Minyard of Indianola; grandparents, Herb and Ruth Dutcher of Indianola; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Ashley was preceded in death by Robert and Esther Preston of Carlisle. In lieu of flowers the family wishes for donations to go to the Ashley Dutcher memorial fund or Go Fund Me. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Indianola. Cremation will follow services.
