Allen Murphy

Allen Bert Murphy passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services for Allen will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola. A visitation for Allen will be held from 1-3:00 PM, prior to funeral services, also at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola.

Allen was born on April 10, 1973, to Wesley and Carla (Hope) Murphy.
Allen was a loving and loyal husband and father whose greatest joy was his family. He loved his home and freedom with all his heart. He lived his life with a stubborn streak, a small filter, and a big heart. If he had an opinion, you heard whether you agreed with him or not. He was a take it or leave it kind of man, and those who loved him wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Allen believed every day should include laughter. He surrounded himself with people who shared that joy, and he had a gift for turning even the simplest moments into something worth smiling about. He was the one you called when you needed help—no hesitation, no questions, just action. His loyalty showed up in the way he showed up.

He loved the outdoors, embraced most adventures, and had a soft spot for every animal he met. Whether he was exploring, working with his hands, or simply enjoying the fresh air, he felt most at home under the open sky.

Allen leaves behind a family who will forever miss his humor, his honesty, his stubborn charm, and the steady love he gave so freely. His presence filled a room, and his absence leaves a space that cannot be replaced.
Allen is survived by his wife Brittany Murphy of Indianola; His children Miranda McGregor, Allen Murphy, Colten Murphy, Dixie Murphy, Bonnie Murphy, with multiple grandchildren, nieces, and nephews and both of his parents Wesely Murphy and Carla (Hope) Murphy.
